NEW! Inside Voices

An album of original songs, a stew of pop rock styles, written by Carlton “Colly” Wilkinson, produced by Dane Scalise and arranged by Colly and Dane.

Dane and I have been friends since high school. Inside Voices began in our regular marathon phone conversations about philosophy and music and science and artificial intelligence and politics and whatever. It started with Snowblindness and pretty soon I was on a roll, kicking out new songs and then we were talking about making an album together.

Twenty tracks later, a consistent sound in all the arrangements and production techniques. We were exploring together—Mississippi Fred McDowell, the Beach Boys, Curtis Mayfield, David Crosby, Joni Mitchell, Jaco Pastorius, Fiona Apple, Rihanna, The Weeknd … on and on. We were putting it all in the pot. Along the way, we had help from some other great musicians—Peter Jarvis, Noa Eads, Alex Cichocki and Zack Var on drums, David Rimelis on violin, Bryant Clifford Meyer and Tony Savarino on guitars, Dorian Parreott II on tuba, with Joel Ginsberg at Gecko Studios assisting engineer and producer. Mastering by Carl Saff. The photos are all by me except the one of Dane, which is by Lori Bryan Scalise. The cover and lyric sheet design are by Frank Tagariello.

Such a blessing to work on a project like this and we hope everyone hears it that way when they hear it, as a blessing.
